 It has become accepted in the building industry that up to 20% of the contents of most cartridge sealant, silicone and adhesive products can be wasted as a result of ‘run on’ – the excess product that continues to flow from the nozzle after the user stops applying the product. Ozzy Nozzy™ is an innovative nozzle design from Concept Express that provides the first successful solution to this longstanding, worldwide problem.
‘Run on’ is highly inefficient and wasteful and can compromise the finish of the job. Cleaning up the mess created by ‘run on’ consumes considerable time and resources (including solvents and non-recyclable cleaning rags).
Previous attempts to stop ‘run on’ have focused on modifying the dispenser gun and/or the packaging process, with little success. The Ozzy Nozzy™ simply replaces the current nozzle used with the existing cartridge dispenser system. It requires no changes to the cartridge, the dispenser gun, the product contents or buyer behaviour and can potentially replace the standard nozzle design now being used worldwide.
Concept Express Pty Limited owns all IP for the design, which is based on fluid flow principles and slurry-related dynamics. The design concept was developed completely in-house, and global patents are pending. Ozzy Nozzy™ has been independently and positively assessed by a leading Australian plastics manufacturer and two major sealant companies, Concept Express Pty Limited and Ozzy Nozzy™ won the Getting Started category of the 2004 Australia Post NSW/ACT Small Business Awards.
With the building and home renovation industry booming worldwide, Ozzy Nozzy™ will find a ready market among both professional and DIY tradespeople. Global sales of a new dripless nozzle™ are expected to exceed $A100 million/year.
The technology has attracted local investors. Concept Express has recently signed a manufacturing supply contract for Ozzy Nozzy™ with a leading Australian plastics manufacturer and attracted the major sealant companies, who are variously involved in assessing its potential for distribution.
Negotiations for distribution of the Ozzy Nozzy™ in Australia are well advanced. Concept Express is seeking international distributors to help it bring this market-ready, high-potential technology to all other markets worldwide. |
